Another new trailer for “Collide” (previously “Autobahn”) has been released online, and you can watch it in full below. Screen captures and a new poster have also been added to the gallery.
Shot way back in 2014, there has been little heard since about “Collide” — formerly known as “Autobahn.” The latest from director Eran Creevy (“Welcome To The Punch”) is a full throttle action flick starring Nicholas Hoult and Felicity Jones, while Ben Kingsley and Anthony Hopkins bring some vintage flavor to the proceedings, and a new international trailer gives another little peek at what’s coming.
The premise for this one is fairly simple, with a young man forced to go on the run from the job after a heist goes wrong. He hits the autobahn with some flashy vehicles to make his escape, while enlisting the help of his drug smuggling former employer to protect his girlfriend from the mob.
“Collide” will open on October 30th in the U.S. via Open Road.
The first trailer for “Collide” has now been released, and you can watch it in full below.
Eran Creevy’s “Collide” (previously “Autobahn”) is hitting the Open Road. IM Global and Open Road Films today confirmed what had been expected for some time now, with the distributor acquiring the U.S. rights to the Nicholas Hoult-starrer. Open Road chief exec Tom Ortenberg and IM Global founder and chief Stuart Ford announced the film will open in America on April 1 next year.
The film also stars Felicity Jones (“The Theory Of Everything”), Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley. It was financed by IM Global and China’s DMG Entertainment, with additional financing by Sycamore Pictures. Joel Silver produced via his Silver Pictures banner, along with Ben Pugh and Rory Aitken via 42, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones via Automatik, and Action Concept. The feature shot entirely in Germany with support from DFFF, the German Federal Film Fund, and NRW, the North Rhine-Westphalia funding entity.
In the film, previously known as Autobahn, a young American couple Casey (Hoult) and Juliette (Jones) are plunged into an adrenaline-pumping game of cat and mouse across Germany when they find themselves caught between two ruthless feuding criminals (Hopkins and Kingsley).
The film had originally been set for release by Relativity. Those plans were waylaid following that company’s bankruptcy, allowing IM Global to take it back and do the deal with Open Road instead.
Relativity Studios and IM Global have set Oct. 30 as the U.S. release date for action-thriller “Autobahn,” starring Nicholas Hoult, Felicity Jones, Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley.
Eran Creevy (‘Welcome to the Punch”) directed the film from a script he co-wrote with F. Scott Frazier.
The story involves Hoult’s character scheming to pull a drug heist for an eccentric gangster (played by Kingsley) to pay for his girlfriend’s medical emergency. Hopkins portrays an evil druglord menacing the girlfriend, played by Jones.
IM Global and China’s DMG Entertainment financed the film, with additional financing provided by Sycamore Pictures and Ingenious Media. “Autobahn” was produced by Joel Silver, Ben Pugh and Rory Aitken of 42, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik and Daniel Hetzer of Germany’s Action Concept.
Relativity acquired U.S. distribution rights in November.
